Don’t Worry Be Happy!

Worrying is a waste of energy.  Worry often represents a lack of trust in yourself, and a higher power or the universe.  Allowing yourself to slide into a state of FEAR results in False Evidence Appearing Real.  Worry comes from a place of lack.  You may feel you have a lack of personal control over the way you dealt with an issue in the past or how you will deal with an issue, person or event in the future. Your body is reacting to your worry in the present moment because it is unable to discern the difference between a worry you have about a past or future situation. Your body picks up on anxiety and reacts to it as if it is happening in the current moment. Worry is a bad habit and will often surface in our minds when we encounter triggers we associate with a past experience.  For example, a person, similar situation, emotion, sound or even a smell.

A variety of strategies are listed below to help you to be in the present moment when you encounter your worry triggers. The goal of using these strategies is for you to be able to surrender to the moment, knowing the universe has your back and everything is working out for your highest good.

STRATEGIES:

Take action.  Don’t sit around and obsess.  Go for a walk, listen to uplifting music, do some gardening, cook a favourite meal.

Mediate.  Take a few moments to check in with yourself.  Connect with something bigger than yourself.  Feel the connection among all living things.

Say a prayer to feel God/Universe’s acceptance and unconditional love.  Surrender to the truth you are not alone. Challenges you are experiencing are life lessons to help you evolve your soul.

Say affirmations to maintain a positive mindset.  When triggers pop up say all or any of the following affirmations out loud or silently in your head.

“I release worry and courageously stay in the present moment.”

“I am grounded, confident and competent.”      “The universe always has my back.”

“I am safe and at peace.”

Use a gratitude journal.  Write down all the things you are grateful for and  give thanks to God, or the Universe for all your blessings.
